I can only go to -100 with PS CS2. -100 worked fine for me.

Great tutorial man, but how do i move the shadow? if i do it doesn't blend with the light like it does in your pictures, its just a flat circular edge, if you can tell me what i'm doing wrong it would help alot,
Thanks

Before ADDING the shadow, make sure you've feathered your selection. Then it will be smooth.

First off let me say great sig Sunjo and top work. I've been checking out some of your guys artwork on deviantart and let me something again AWESOME I'm very impressed....VERY impressed. I've had a few problems with the tut though (mostly because I'm very new to Photoshop cs3) There are a few things that you seem to have missed out which (being new to PS) left me frustrated for hours trying to figure out how the hell you got the results you did. Honestly I've spent all day on and off trying to complete your sig Not sure if you want to make your tut a little easier to follow but I for one would be soooooo grateful if you did. It's just the little things that users like me (total freakn novices) need. ie, The starfield part 2) need to tick the "monochromatic" box part 3) you can't do unless you made a copy of your background? correct? The planet part 2) "scale it down if necessary" - How f*** do I do that??? lol And in some parts I'm not sure if you meant to say "copy layer" or "duplicate layer" but I'm just not getting the results I should. Sometimes it feels like you may have missed out a "make the background transparent" or "use the background color" when copying layers. I swear I'm following everything you say completely on some things then you say "you should have something like this" ..........DOH!!!!! NOOOOO Having something at the end of your tut showing where all the different layers should be would be totally awesome. Please don't think I'm having a go at you Sunjo I'm definitely not. It's not you mate it's definitely me lol Most tuts on the internet are hard to follow for beginners (well they are for me) I'm just so frustrated at the moment I've tried completing your tut over 3 times today Guess I'm just asking for a little more description for the "beginners" like me. And to finish off thanks for reading and thanks for inspiring me, one day I hope to be as capable with Photoshop as some of you guys. Keep up the good work PS: sorry if I sounded demanding I didn't mean to.

1st of all, this is an advanced tut. You need to know your way around PS to see your image and Sunjo's and to figure out what he did differently that he didn't put in the sig, so you can do it. 2nd, thanks for trying it. 3rd, I basically followed what he did, and got close to the same result. (Well the same idea anyway...) To re-size things, click on the layer, and go Alt+T or go to Edit: Free Transform.

I did not know you needed to tick monochromatic.. and you don't need to make a copy of your BG image. Just work over top of the BG image. And to scale things hit Ctrl+T then change the W: 100% and H: 100% at the top to change the width and height. As said, this IS a advanced tutorial. I have a beginner space tutorial here: masdsn.proboards67.com/index.cgi?board=tuts&action=display&thread=1170140878If you want you could try following that one instead, and mix some steps from this one too. If all else fails, drop me a line on msn, and I'll be happy to personally help you step by step on this tutorial. MSN add is: SunjoHS@hotmail.com

Na, it's fine. Always good to try these things, because you learn little tricks to help in other things.
