BadGirlM, thats because he used special settings for his smudge brush, such as Scattering and all of that.

Yeah, just mess with your brush settings, use scatter, mess around.

Sure.
It's a 23px charcol brush with the following settings.
Shape Dynamics>Size Jitter 38% >Min Diameter 8% >Angle Jitter 20% >Roundness Jitter 75% >Min Roundness 30%
Scattering>Scatter 75%
Other Dynamics>Strength 100%
Noise and Smoothing checked. Just mess around, those are very loose settings, you can do whatever you want with them.

I know this sounds kinda dumb.. but in cs2 how do you go in and configure with that stuff..

Up the top right. There is tabs, go to "Brushes". Then in that menu, go to the right, and click on the things you want.
