Good, I see you tried some effects of your own instead of following it completely. Planet textures could use some work, but that's not really your fault.

Thats a pretty decent work from the tutorial. As Sunjo said, really planet textures and placment of things. The nebula looks pretty sexy, would be better though if it wasn't so contrasty.

Thanks, arry. This is a novice space scape, you should see my advanced ones. And yeah, sven showed me this.. he'd be better if he didn't lose 1-2 years to WoW. heh

Thats why this tut is famous and has 15k hits on it Space art is kindda knew and therefor it's an area being explored so techniques for it are uncommon and quality space tutorials are extremely rare.

Aaawwweeeesssoooommmeeee tutorial. I've been trying to make something like this for a while now. I have adobe photoshop but i have no idea how to work anything on it. ._. So when I found this site i decided to join it. Awesome tutorials on it. The only step I can't do on this is.. I save the texture that you link to, but when i try to select it in photoshop it won't appear because it's not in a certain format. I can only save it as a JPEG and i can't select JPEGs as a texture in adobe. How do I do this? :S Sorry if this is a reallyyyy dumb question, I just don't know how to work anything in photoshop really..

Just open the file, and select the marquee tool, then hold shift and move it over to your planet document. Then cut out the parts necessary. And thanks for the compliments! If you need further help you can add me on msn. SunjoHs@hotmail.com
